Around 2001
Plastream
was established with the purpose of marketing the SRP pipe technology,
developed by Rib Loc Australia for its pipe and rehabilitation customers, as a turnkey offering
for new pipe producers around the world.
Plastream
pipes were first commercialized in
Australia in late
2002 through another
business unit of Rib Loc that later became known as Caliber Australia
Pty Ltd.
In 2004,
Plastream formed a partnership with Krauss-Maffei which is now the
preferred supplier of extrusion machinery for Plastream pipe production.
The first
overseas installation and production of pipes followed in 2004 in the
Ukraine where DN 1000 pipes were
produced.
The first
full turnkey installation was completed in 2006 in the UAE for Al-Dhafra
Pipes.
In
the same year this was followed by the signing of a major agreement with
Contech Construction Products in the
USA for the supply
of a number of lines in the years ahead. Commissioning of the first line
was completed in October 2008.
In
2007 Plastream became a Limited company under the name of Rib Loc Pipe
Pty Ltd but continued to trade under the name Plastream.
In May 2008 Plastream fully separated from the Rib Loc Group.
Aquaspira
ordered it’s first line for the
UK in
2008 for delivery and commissioning in the first quarter of 2009.
